I'm honestly confused at the hatred that exists for these Nova instructors. What's your problem people? They come here and they do a job. That's it. I'm sure there are bad apples but thats true of any company or line of work. Stop acting like you're so much better simply because you're in a different company or school system. My diploma in Education doesn't make me any better. From the sound of Lord Phlegm's post, he's certainly no better. Invest in thesaurus, friend.

You all need to stop pretending that you are doing anything more serious or important. I've known people who have worked at the major commercial schools, ALTs, JETs, private school instructors like myself, private tutors, what have you, and in ALL cases you hear of complete asses and really good teachers. We are teaching people to speak our native language. Guess what? You don't need to be a genius to do that. You do need skill to do it well, but having a degree in education certainly doesn't guarantee it. Just think back to our high school days and recall the teachers you fell asleep on or ditched.

We're all in Japan doing the same thing. Working under a different flag doesn't magically make you superior and thrashing people by calling them twits four times in a six line post proves you're not.

Get a grip and stop hopping on the bandwagon. The company is deserving of your hate. Nova lied, cheated, ripped off students, treated their staff like crap and stole everything they could that wasn't nailed down. The teachers and staff are just trying to live.

The Nova employees can be faulted for being naive, or overly optimistic, or even in denial. The signs have been there for a long time so they should have left earlier. But don't dump the taint of the corporation on its workers.

What gives you the right to say that about over 3,000 people? Nothing.
Not much different than what a small town white lower class racist would say in my books. How many did I get right there? Who are you, and when were you relieved from your duties at Nova? How many chicks have you put away here? How much charisma has this country given you that you couldn't have gotten in your home country? It doesn't last forever mate.
Have some compassion and at least post entries that portray yourself as a semi-thinking individual. Its not only Nova at stake here, its the whole eikawa community in Japan. The other competing schools have become suspect as well. That concept might be pretty hard to see through that ax you have to grind. Grind away if you insist; we brainless twits will find a way to survive. I cant believe someone would wish harm on another human being like this. I wish you the best for you brother. You need it more than me.

If you work for NOVA, you should realize it’s a bullshit job and any fucking moron who grew up in an English speaking country can do the job. If you wanted to have fun and party in Japan, good for you. You probably pulled plenty of ass, got drunk all the time and did some interesting sight seeing. But, let’s not kid ourselves, it’s not a real job. You should be prepared to walk away from it at anytime. Like working at McDonalds or a fucking gas station, it’s a pay check, but it’s worthless career experience, unless you want to be a pre-school teacher. If you want another year of vacation go to another EIKAIWA. Or go home and get a real job. NOVA’s closure is probably a blessing in disguise for all of you who were going to just settle on being a NOVA teacher for the rest of your life. Get a life, get a real job.

Regarding the request for an autograph.My last batch of collectable ones has sold out because lets face it everyone would want the autograph of a real, true-to-life teacher not some wannabe but i will be releasing a future collection soon celebrating Nova's continuing exploitation of workers.Mind you they are asking for it.

I TOPATSUed 7 times since the 15th trying to get fired. I walked into voice on a day I TOPATSUed, wearing shorts and T-shirt, and handed out a cards w/ my phone number to all my favorite students, and told them once this shit hole tanks to give me a call for privates. Did I get fired, NO. The chicken shits wouldn't fire me. My AM had a talk with me. I told him, I'm not getting paid next month, so why should I give a fuck. He still wouldn't fire me. But, I gotta job offer, so I finally quit.

My last pay will probably never come, but atleast I'm still not working for free like a lot of you sacks.

My advice: Do whatever you want. They will not fire you. Have fun!

Oh, yeah..there is ALOT of tension between the AT's and BT's at my branch...oh..the AT'S and BT'S are have now "changed" sides now that Nova screwed them...now they try act like they are our "buddies" and how we need to "stick together"....BS...Im not looking out for you AT, BT, or AAM..or J-staff. You had a good time fxxxxn with us instructors. Now, its my turn...I dont give a shxt about filling out student files anymore...Im in class with print outs from the internet in english and japanese about the Novatanic going down and how the students wont see a yen of their money again. Now you’re unpaid volunteers working for charity. Your excuses, I mean qualifications are perfect for charity volunteers: integrity, responsibility, sacrifice for the students, proud of being a good a teacher, work ethic, etc. You’re a bunch of fucking Philanthropists!!!
