GEOS North America: Everything is OK

As has been mentioned in comments, the NY ryugaku blog has posted a memo from GEOS New York saying that everything is OK:

Announcement from GEOS New York Corporation (GEOS USA) and GEOS Language Corporation (GEOS Canada)

GEOS Corporation in Japan recently filed for bankruptcy, with some of its assets taken over by G Communications, a separate Japanese company, and some of its assets being currently held by a court-appointed trustee.

The ownership of the shares of the company in North America is currently held by a court-appointed trustee awaiting sale.

There has been no change in the legal or operating status of the companies in Canada and the United States, and we look forward to a rapid sale and to continuing to provide excellent services to our students and partners.

I really have nothing to add apart from we all know how this kind of reassurance turned out when GEOS Australia shut down.

Everything is OK. Don't worry!

Comments

Damn, that is a long post.

You mentioned the GEOS NYC and Ivy League schools. So I am safe to assume you contacted the GEOS Montreal location? Were you talking to a woman named Sayaka?

I tried to contact them a bit ago concerning the state of their operations and if they would still be in business this summer. Got hung up on/ "lost connection."

By the way, I think I might enter that contest someone posted on page one of this thread. I have a few thinks I would love to offer them.

Got to love the person's e-mail: . Ha!

Inside the infamous GEOS Montreal.

Well, I might need the $10 the contest poster offered soon...But for now I can post this about inside GEOS Montreal........

* May - September is the busiest month in Canada for the private language school money.

* An intermediate class at our school currently has, oh, SIX STUDENTS. Yes, that is right.........."busy" time of year.

* Our amazing GEOS Newsletter does state we are proud to have "248 students", as someone already posted on here. Well, my dictionary also has the term "fuzzy math" in it, too. You see, we have SIX CLASSROOMS at GEOS Montreal (and one hellish small private instruction room). Those SIX classrooms are lucky to hold. That is, if you like oxygen while you teach or learn. Maybe one could hold 18 students maximum, which has been done in the (yep, forget the "12 students maximum" GEOS Canada policy), but that also means students get to know each other reaaaalll well...Hence the word "snuggle."

So, summarize this ever-lengthening post:

6 rooms X 12 students average/ GEOS policy = 72. Plus you can almost double this number with a staggered schedule with French lessons to maximise room availability/ usage...Again, perfectly full French classes (no agent troubles, etc.) A GRAND TOTAL of 144 students...Yep, still over building fire code and still just less than half of the claimed "248" so proudly claimed in the . Oh, yeah, and that would be MAX, HIGH SEASON, WE-ARE-IN-A-PERFECT-LANGUAGE-WORLD numbers to get the 144.

So that class I told you about earlier that has SIX STUDENTS in Intermediate level, which is the busiest level in Canada...Damn, Uri must be hiding students from us teachers. Should look on the roof to see if he has any privates on the side for extra personal cash.

Okay, back to fixin' up the dear ol' resume. Won't be long before I see the light outside GEOS Montreal. Enjoy the fireworks to come.

Yes, it was. I was kind of annoyed at spending all that time on their placement tests and then not getting much feedback about why I would be at whatever level they decided I was or about what their plan would be for my learning. I guess they must have plenty of students who are really eager to give them lots of money no questions asked so they don't have time to waste of students who want to get a lot of information first. But anybody who parts with their money without understanding exactly what they are getting for that money is a chump. Most Geos students must be total chumps.

The last post was in reference to the person who asked if I spoke with the same person that they did at Geos. Just getting the hang of how this forum works.

Oh, my God, do they actually find people stupid enough to pay $50 an hour to be stuck in a "hellish small private instruction room." Personally, I think they have some nerve trying to get potential students to spend $50 an hour. I called to ask what classes they have and they said I should go for the private instruction. Personally, I think that is pretty rude. I mean $50 an hour is absolutely a ridiculous amount of money for language lessons. But if someone called inquiring about private lessons that is one thing. I called asking about regular classes and they tried to push the private thing. That is just trying to take advantage of people I think.

By the way, are the people at Geos under pressure to recruit new students or do they get some kind of commission or bonus if they get a new student to sign up? Because I definitely got the feeling that the priority was not meeting my needs. The priority seemed to be getting me to part with my money.

9:53 Because they did not have any actual Japanese classes available for you. Trust me, I know. No students, so private automatically.

$50 is kind of normal in the industry, and usually for a lot of onsite (at the company) teaching.

I am shocked the GEOS Montreal actually had placement tests for Japanese. The whole GEOS Canada chain is so haphazardly put together, with no standards, service sharing, etc. Each Japanese course would be a different set of books and teacher styles/ system. No standardization, including in pricing. Nuts for a chain school.

9:58 That's because they ARE trying to get you to part with your money. GEOS North America is bankrupt and they need all they can get...GEOS style was always to get you to part with your money, then worry about your "education needs" later. Hence why they failed. Like a bunch of shady used car dealers.

How did they give you the placement test? Online, e-mail, mail?

Did you also talk to a guy named Uri Carnat at GEOS Montreal?

I talked to some guy when I initially called and then he routed me to the person who handles the department I needed. I don't actually know who I talked to but he sounded youngish (like not older than 40). I got the placement test by email. It had parts I could not complete because they needed to be handwritten. The placement test did not seem to be that great of a test to me for testing what jlpt level a person would be because it is nothing like real jlpt tests and because it asks some really nitpicky things that make you score badly so it would severly underestimate your jlpt level.

I am sitting her trying to recall the test in more detail and it just crossed my mind that a lot (actually, I think all) of the test was fill in the blank. Of course, production tasks are much much harder than recall tasks. Multiple choice is generally more recall than production so even if the jlpt and the placement test at Geos tested the same things, the Geos test would still be much harder. I don't really see how they could use that placement test to determine your jlpt level very accurately.

The numbers that 7:56 posted are really interesting. with so few students, no wonder they have to soak each student for like $50 an hour. I just don't see how that could be normal. I mean wow. I got private instruction once in a specialty (math) field from a doctoral student who was teaching me something very high level and specific and I paid him $30 an hour. I thought it was a lot but worth it because of his expertise. You would seriously have to be a complete moron to give somebody $50 an hour to teach you a foreign language.

But these outrageous prices are probably why they have so few students. You really need to be offering something extraordinary to be commanding fees like that. It just isn't reasonable. For those prices, they better drive over to my house, bring tools, and fix some of my plumbing while they are talking to me in Japanese, ya know what I mean?! Maybe if they lowered their prices, they would get more students.

Hey 9:58....so you are saying that they don't usually have enough students to run a normal class for intermediates? Do they have enough students to run beginner classes? If so, they don't retain enough to have intermediate classes?

Had an absolutely wonderful Russian student at GEOS Sydney who confided that, in one year, he had spent $120,000 on his studies, living expenses, and having fun here in Australia. Also said his Mum in Moscow, who was paying for him, was a bit upset at the sum! Great guy, hope I bump into him again in Europe sometime. Working at GEOS ment one did meet some interesting people.

"Department"? Ha, ha! GEOS Montreal is known as the broom closet on these boards. Seriously, it is barely bigger. There isn't even space to think let alone departments.

Well, GEOS Canada is bankrupt and good thing you did not pre-pay private instruction because you probably not get it back.

Why did you want to study at GEOS Montreal in the first place when you live in the States?

Dear Parent
You may have been looking at the latest GEOS NA advertising drive trying to get you to sign your child up for a GEOS Summer School in North America. Think hard before going ahead with any such action. How is you child going to cope with being on their own in a strange city and being told "sorry, the school has just closed, nope, I simply can't do anything to help you." Sensible advice is to look hard at the recent GEOS track record in NZ, Australia, Japan etc and put your child and your money into some other institution.
Kindest Regards
A Concerned English Teaching Gramdmother

PLEASE HELP....

I am a concerned homestay mother who is looking for anyone to help me. I have two wonderful young adults staying with my husband and I in our home. These students came here about 3 weeks ago from South America. They are studying at GEOS Language Academy for 6 months. I am worried by the recent bankruptcy filing an all that has been said by "insiders" on here and elsewhere.

What happens to these students if GEOS closes suddenly? Will I get the rest of the homestay funds (currently paid monthly) to take care of these two wonderful young gentlemen if the academy is closed suddenly? Does the government assist me in these circumstances and where should I look for such advice?

I only made a passing comment to the homestay manager (and very briefly with the school manager) when I last spoke with the school concerning my cheque. It did not seem they wanted to talk about anything of the sort and just brushed me off rather tartly. This worries me.

I am not allowed to discuss homestay payments due to the contract I signed. The GEOS school handles all payment from students; we must not take money from students directly. I think they charge students around $800 per month plus other fees. I do not get that much and recently I was paid late. They said it was just an internal administrative error.

My husband and I are not dependent on the homestay payments for our financial security. We are a bit older and our kids left the house a while ago. We enjoy the international students and see the extra money as a retirement bonus. We are more worried what will happen to these young adults if they . We will not kick them out on the street if GEOS suddenly is closed, even if we are not paid by GEOS or the government for their residence. But of course they cannot live at our place forever. I can only imagine the parents worry, as a parent myself.

But I read an earlier post that we should look for an announcement of a "closure" on May 17th. That is tomorrow here in North America. Is that person still standing by that claim? Another poster also mentioned that they would not all fall at once because of lease requirements/ ending dates...And I think someone else said near the end of the GEOS study session on the 24th is more plausible.

Anyone on the inside or with inside knowledge help out?

Ask Mr. Uri Carnat at GEOS Montreal. He should provide some answers for you.

America , what's got us mazed is who in the hell would make any forward payment to an outfit like GEOS after the happenings of the last few months. Looking at current GEOS advertising on the net, each school is focussing on youngsters and "summer schools". Maybe the kids parents are not aware of the GEOS collapse across the world. Seriously, would any agent send a client to a GEOS schood today. GEOS NA must be on the very smell of their final financial resources.

Another GEOS manager bites the dust.

Okay, I thought this would be posted earlier on here but it wasn't. The long-term GEOS Ottawa manager has quit. In her place is basically the homestay/ activities coordinator. I smell puppet manager.

Let's just say old GEOS Ottawa manager, Martha Munroe, hated the little guy in Montreal. For her to leave is huge; she was with GEOS for a long time and she actually hired Uri Carnat/ little guy, GEOS Montreal manager. They fought like cats and dogs and talked behind each others back constantly. She would not leave unless there was a) big fight with GEOS Montreal and/ or b) she knows the ship is sinking fast. Just like before the Japanese bankruptcy, school managers started dropping and in their place puppet managers until the big announcement.

Stay tuned for more...

NEW INFO

Look for Canadian operations to focus heavily on GEOS Vancouver (West coast, oldest GEOS school in NA) and GEOS Montreal (East coast; Uri Carnat lives there). Emphasis is being placed on these schools for summer programs, while Calgary, Victoria, Ottawa, and Toronto are being de-emphasized. First closures? ;-)

In the U.S., GEOS LA - South Bay (one of two schools in LA; puppet manager currently) and GEOS San Fran (costly) being de-emphasized. Two schools in LA does not make sense, so look for something soon.

Cheers!

Anyone on the inside or with inside knowledge help out?

Dont be so gullible by other people`s comments and posts.

Well, I know a little someone got a bit of a reprieve from the trustee to go ahead with one last shot/ scam. Hence all the Summer Camp BS programs being thrown around on the Internet. And after a two-month hiatus, the agent newsletter is back (on a weekend) and several other documents got a slight refresh suddenly. Again, GEOS Vancouver and Montreal will be the last to close.

Although I also remember everyone attacking the person who posted about the original bankruptcy announcement. He/ she ended up only being a week off and right about most of what he/ she said.

Yup, the GEOS NA Agents News Letter is back and its showcasing young (35 and should know better) Niall Campbell as the incoming sucker, sorry manager, for Ottawa. Where do they find these people????? Hiding behind a haggis on Ben Lomond, shivering in a but and ben outside Lewis, selling bagpipes in the Gorbals, gawd knows!!!!!! I canna believe it, laddie, a wee young mon like yonself with all your grand education should know better, yer Grannie will be turning in her grave at your doings. The Clan will be disowning you. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, the shame of it all falling on our heads.

I think the end of GEOS is so funny. More retards, into the meat grinder. But hey, if you don't think the end of Eikaiwa is tragic, then you are a troll, so darn barn it, I had better watch myself, cause I reckon the end of GEOS is a PISSA ! Yep, you bet ya ! Party ! Party ! Party !

E + G = L

Oh yeah, you bet ya !

So GOES NA is 100% bankrupt.. defunct.. gone... why are they still allowed to trade?

The GEOS NA and GEOS Japan connection is thru GEOS New York Corporation which has Mr K as one of the shareholders. But GNYC is an entity distinct from GJ. Fascinating, eh?
Also getting some attention from those in the know are the European , Philippines, NZ, Capetown "buyouts/takeovers"; just where has any takeover/seedmoney money come from, do we have a ghost owner behind those enterprises. Time is going to reveal all.

I know that GEOS Montreal video. That is when they actually had students!

Now they have, oh, 6 in Intermediate...Which is always the largest English class. And that is through HEAVY discounting. Last time I heard, 50% off wasn't uncommon on already reduced prices. Now they are working desperately to secure/ steal parents money for their child's summer camp. Pre-paid tuition, after. Then close up shop and run. Typical GEOS style.

So another long-term GEOS NA manager quits. Hmmmm...Off the greener pastures, I guess.

Martha Munroe left Ottawa? You have to be shittin' me?! If she left, then GEOS Canada is definitely going down the tubes. She would be the last person to leave normally.

Their main focuses are French and English, right? So 6 in intermediate English is pretty bad. How many students do they have learning Japanese at each level? Do they have enough money coming in to stay solvent or are they just barely keeping the creditors at bay?

1. Let's just say there is a reason the are pushing hard for GROUP summer camps for children. They have no experience in this in NA much, but it makes for a lot of nice pre-paid tuition to keep afloat.

2. Regular agent system for adult students is pretty dead. So go after non-agent (for the most part) kid summer camps. Less agent fees and no baggage (parents do not know, just want to get rid of their kids for the summer).

3. If they were "offering" you private Japanese instruction only, they DO NOT have any Japanese classes going. Otherwise they would love to stuff. A teacher I know who works there told me they do not have any Japanese classes he knows of. Ignore their bs in the newsletter and such, because they pretend they have these programs for marketing.

4. Leases are coming due for some Canadian schools. I know Montreal re-signed in September, but heard from staff member it was a short extension. If one year, that would be September.

5. Martha Munroe leaving GEOS Ottawa is huge. No one expected her to go. GEOS life. Can't see Niall pulling in lot of students in Ottawa.

GEOS NA will NOT last into the fall and winter without a buyer.

2008 is when GEOS Montreal actually had students...Then Uri Carnat destroyed everything with overly aggressive sales pitches, shitty facilities (too cheap), and screwed staff and teachers. Ran it into the ground, where it is today...Not many students now and time is ticking.

So, Mr. Tompkins and Naolfa quit last year as GEOS school managers. Naolfa basically founded GEOS in NA.

Martha Munroe gone as GEOS Ottawa manager now. Martha was a lifer at GEOS and decision sudden (she is still listed on GEOS Ottawa Web site with photo). Would love to know her "other career opportunities."

Academic Coordinator turnover greater than Wal-Mart (teacher turnover is always high).

Hmmmmm...

Well, apparently, the North American Japanese Managers are waiting on a fax from Head Office in Japan, instructing them what to do, but because GEOS JP has not paid its phone bill, the fax can't be sent.

Rumour has it, that the fax says, "Close all schools immediately, we are bankrupt", but because it has not been officially received, those "in the know" in the land of 10% unemployment, don't know what to do, so it is business as usual, until further notice.

If you think the above is taking the piss, you are wrong.

It is all true. Cross my heart.

Just ignore Nova Ducky. He trolls on here and only tries to disrupt our honest conversation about GEOS, especially GEOS NA. There is a pattern that several of us...Usually tries to overwrite things said about GEOS Canada or U.S.. Just ignore.

17:45 I will believe it when I see it.

Damn that was so easy to pull you out of your North American (Canada, perhaps?) lair...Given the time you wrote. :-)

Good old Ducky does like to go postal on here. Obviously he has a lot of time on his hands, and very little to do. All the power to him!

I can t go into my sources but there were agents in European countries who had to refund lost GEOS fees for AUstralia because of European consumer protection laws. Those same agents have received friendly emails from the management owners of GEOS schools and also GEOS NA asking for their continued support. What would you do? I suspect the Japanese appointed managers don t really understand the contempt in which the GEOS brand is held in the agent world. The buy out schools are tainted by association. So therefore only the most gullible are sending students and at heavily discounted prices. The miracle is that GEOS NA has lasted this long. All the fees in advance are drained, bills have backed up, managers have left and there is no IP or management expertise in the company. Leases are useless ...... Every teacher competitor and industry person can see it. But the Japan administrator being ignorant of the industry probably thinks that there is some value for resale. I find it remarkable that the Japanese administrators have let it run this long. Australian administrators made a very quick decision. I wonder if the administrators were the same elite class who as bankers allowed a cash in advance business to build up debts of 750 billion? yen ? Quite a lot anyway

7:26 It is amazing that GEOS NA has lasted this long, but it is not due to business acumen or education. Simply put, GEOS Japan really forgot all about GEOS NA in the bankruptcy shuffle. Then, they really do not even understand how all of their world operations (NA only left now) are connected...And finally, there is a little someone named Uri Carnat at GEOS Montreal who has begged everyday to "let him handle things"...Let's just say he talked a lot of smack and now has to back it up. Moreover, he doesn't have much else after GEOS given he has a habit of fudging his resume here and there. *wink, wink*

Questions is, to what extent does Uri still have control and how long will they wait while they bleed all the money dry? Any inside info would be appreciated.

WTF?! Martha Munroe quit in Ottawa??!?!?!

Okay, she was a typical nuts GEOS manager. Hated men; hired almost all women, except for Niall who is the new "manager." Ironic, eh? Polar opposite of Uri Carnat, who purposely hired mostly men because "women cost money because they have babies..." Quebec law is pretty nice for pregnant workers.

Some other person seems to know the whole Martha-Uri saga on here. Definite GEOS Canada insider. Let's just say Uri is not so hurt that she left, unlike what he said in the Agent Newsletter. But for sure it shows things are crumbling in Canada with her departure decision.

Coburg,

"Rescue mission" for GEOS NA? Care to elaborate?

She still hangs on as a contact in the current NA Agents Newsletter. But is she really still working with the GEOS outfit? Anyone got any info???

Nope...

Notice how she removed any mention of her name, etc. from the agent site? Did not want to be associated with the mess, I guess.

Rumour has it, GEOS Montreal is down to TWO English levels. The rest is French, Supposed to have SIX English levels, average four...Looks like they killed their English program badly.

Toute l'horreur de elle. Uri pauvre. Il rend nous la sensation si triste.

Pauvres Uri. Si triste en effet.

Who let all the froggies in here?

Froggies? LIsten, mate, we're Uri's last hope for survival.!!! Chacun, aux barricades ! Et I' ; salaire de ll vous le mois prochain !

Blimey American! That's what me DOS says about me English. Look I'm....... seulement un professeur humble d'eikinawa essayant de gagner une certaine somme d'argent et maintenant Uri heureux, correct?

hideous.

Well, the French language doesn't even deserve a second year of college courses. I know I never took one, nor would I care to. The French just can't accept that English is THE world language. Even the posts making fun of the French on here are in ENGLISH. Enough said.

By the way, the French above is "second year"? Wow, you have pretty awful institutions where you live.

P.P.S Poor Uri.

Damn, dude. Slow down. People just messing around on here. Seriously,

I think the person just meant that English is what is considered "the world" language, which is pretty much a fact in business, politics, etc. I do not think it had anything to do with "superiority"...Got to keep that inferiority complex in check. I know the whole GEOS mess is stressing you, but...

Are some of you going to start crying on us now? Seriously, you both sound like 13 year-olds. Just ignore it if you do not want it to flame up. This is an open, public forum. Get used to it.

Damn, people starting to sound like Uri Carnat...Whining and bitching because he lost his "Regional Director" position to the trustee. Whhhhaaaaa....Cry.....Whhhaaaaaaaaaaaa!

How cna you possibly be so stupid as to call any language ugly or inferior.

You are obviously not French.

Well, anything in the world is better than the French. Just opinion though.

Martha Munroe gone in Ottawa? Definte closures coming.

Have good friends at GEOS Toronto and Vancouver who will update me Tuesday.

I invite Martha Munroe to post on these boards about her inside knowledge and where GEOS Canada stands right now. Your insight and experience would be a great asset to this board. And I am sure you know when things are going to go down and have a few bridges to burn (Uri?). Remember, it is completely anonymous so you never have to give your name, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Big Bob.

Frankly, I don't think anyone who knows 。。。。ya think???

GEOS died. G.Com is trying cpr. What else is there. Nothing to see here. Move along.

and the beat goes on.....

G.education/GEOS is now hiring instructors of both full and part-time positions around Japan. Having a visa that allows employment and a willingness to relocate if needed are pluses. Please send a resume and cover letter by e-mail if you are interested. (posted: 2010-05-20)

15:29. And your comments added to the "intelligent" and "useful" discussion how? Gotta love how some people fill up space on here commenting on how useless other peoples' posts are. Go figure.

Big push for pre-paid summer tuition for kids' camps.

Tick-tock, tick-tcck...

But it is just pathetic to post a few sentences you barely understand just to show off. What a bunch of idiots post here. Really pathetic. Is your wee wee that small that you have to prove you are important posting one or two sentences in languages that you aren't native in and aren't fluent in? Sad. Really sad.

Typical....poorly educated, monolingual american acting out......inferiority and envy passed off as criticism.

16:44 Are you really going to cry about some person who you think got on here and used Google translate to post? Seriously?

The world is moving to automated translation services, including many new technologies that allow live. Sure it will be a while and there will be growing pains. But maybe that poster is on to something much greater (and those future forward are why many language schools are failing). You have been on here before whining about the "poor Japanese" at GEOS...Who is the pretentious one?

Last time I checked, this thread is titled GEOS North America: Everything is OK. Something posted remotely related to that would be more ideal.

1:23 Are you mentally unstable? Honestly, I have been following your posts and you kind of worry me. I mean that in a nice, but concerned way.

1. Not one person mentioned they were "superior" when they supposedly used translation software to post, as you claim. From what I saw they were just have some fun with each other, or

2. "especially when they are a teacher at a language school"...Do you know something I don't? Went back and looked at the posts, and did not see anyone out themselves as such. Do you have some inside knowledge? Special powers? Because from what I have gathered, there are a lot more than just teachers on here...GEOS managers, teachers, ex-teachers (and managers), other school employees, other service providers, industry people, etc, have all seemed to be on here at one time or another.

3. You bitched about the lack of any legitimate Japanese skills of GEOS Canada employees before...You bitch about translation software use, or perceived use (although I would love to know exactly how you know it was used since you never seem to explain)...Getting a little fishy on your side.

I do know that poor Uri Carnat has been on the Internet a lot lately, posting on some of his sites. Now that is a fact and definitely related to GEOS. Some of us are deep within GEOS, but of course we will never tell how. ;-)

This has really become very very boring...and moved into a dink fight between two losers who have more time than sense..Yes, I get it: it is an "open" forum to express what you want (as long as Shawn thinks it is OK / fits his point of view) but, really, honestly, who gives a f**k about who wears a beret more correctly, or can conjugate. Head to the "Let's Grammar" or "Let's French" or "Let's see who's grandmother can beat up who's grandmother" thread. I like chicken (a lot!) but it doesn't enter into this conversation. This thread does have a focus (albeit sad, and lame, and retrospective) on GEOS. My general guess would be that it could at least stick to the outrageous rumours, unqualfied rantings, uneducated squeekings, and full-on eager mockery of that specific theme. Is that too difficult???

Wow, three posts by the same person in a row. Your IP address gives you away.

Honestly, "American" (which your IP seems to contradict somehow) you seem to have a bone to pick with everyone on here and ALWAYS seem to be trolling. Honestly, it is not just one person you are replying to; this is my first post in a week and I only did so because your postings need to be challenged. You see only to be on here looking for a fight and trying to prove how "intellectually superior" you are. Give it up, because no one is buying it.

At the end of the day you seem to be very unstable, not have a job (given your posts are everyday and all day), and somehow you are more involved in GEOS than you are letting on. I am sure there are a few on here that can figure that out and probably will in short time.

Say "hi" to Uri Carnat (we know he loves talking to himself) and the rest of the gang in your little land. Enjoy.

My general guess would be that it could at least stick to the outrageous rumours, unqualfied rantings,

Easy to understand where this person is REALLY posting from...Some of us can figure it out quickly. Ha, ha, ha. Too bad the person who wrote it can't even realize how they gave themselves away.

4:48 Saw that too! Laughed my ass off because the person obviously is a GEOS employee who can't stand all those "outrageous rumours" and "unqualified rantings" on here...hahaha...I smell m-a-n-a-g-e-r... :-)

Good entertainment. :-)

Wow, three posts by the same person in a row. Your IP address gives you away.

The ONLY person who can see IP addresses are Shawn. You are a REAL MORON if you think people will believe that statement. Stop lying.

If shawn installed a program displaying IP addresses on this website....then EVERYONE could see it.

Deleted because nobody but me can see the IP addresses of the posts made here. Go away troll.

So obvious you are more than just a "I was looking for a Japanese program...blahm blah" person...Too obvious for sure.

00:12

You are being messed with and you do not even know it. I could start to explain, but you probably wouldn't understand.

P.S. Funny you bring up a certain someone when all a person said was you were more than just a simple person looking for a simple Japanese program. But I know you were busy yesterday. ;-)

Hmm...Ok! Out me! Who am I? What gave me away?

16:55 Sounds like Montreal!

Would anyone like a GEOS manager job in Montreal? No managerial skills or related education required. Just tweak the dear ol' resume a little to make it look like you actually taught at another local language school (but never did)...Pretend you went to the more prestigious university in town and you were oh-so-athletic (but instead you went to the fourth-tier-we-let-anyone-in-who-can-say-there-name university close by and would not know the difference between a basketball and a football). Hire fresh-out-of-university "academic coordinators" with absolutely no experience in teaching so you can become a puppeteer (they will still laugh at you behind your back). Use your staff and teachers for "free hours" and to clean the schools because, hey, that saves money and makes $100 more than another manager (your staff tell secrets to others and teachers tell students everything). Oh, and piss just about everyone off that matters at GEOS Canada (see Canadian managers leaving and something to do with height awareness).

Yup, welcome to the wonderful world of GEOS Montreal.

1:18 Funny stuff and so true. I second that. Possibly we know each other. Ah, what a small world indeed.

Glad BishBish found a new home. You gain is .... our gain!

And in GEOS sports news, PHILADELPHIA DEFEATS MONTREAL to advance the Stanley Cup.

Damn, looks like things aren't going well for that Montreal city..............

Applications to what? For what?

No big mystery, Johnno. It's just that American's Mum is advertising for a new toyboy and written applications close on the 26th. She tells me that there hasn't been a flood of applications so far but she's still got her hopes up. Her big ambition is to have a love-child with a bit more brains than American proved to have. Shouldn't be too difficult. (Oh, by the way, she said that it's quite OK for Canadians to apply for the position if they want to).

Ha, ha! Get it.

Wonder where Martha Munroe went. Her sudden departure (staff and students were shocked) leaves one to wonder what she is doing these days...We all know why she left though... ;-)

Wasnt there some talk of some big announcement on the 17th?? or 24th?? or someday?? What happened with that? . . . still waiting to be outed and told who I am and how I have been so easily detected....

3:13 You obviously did not realize why a couple us of posted certain things related to you...We never said you were a manager; just like we never said we were teachers (but you somehow made an assumption that we were). We are not.

It is not in the specific statements you make, but rather in the totality of your comments. You give yourself (and true motive) away, but you do not realize it. We are not going to explain any further. But you can keep writing.

Most of us ignored that "announcement" a long time ago because the poster did not provide supporting detail...There was one announcement back in April that was only a week off (GEOS Japan decided to delay the bankruptcy announcement a week for unknown reasons). That person was absolutely correct in their announcement, even when certain GEOS NA managers said it was all BS. Maybe even they were taken by surprise by the announcement, but either way the poster was spot on. The difference this time is most of insiders know that the 17th announcement was not made by the same inside individual...And the 24th was only a suggestion a possibility, but never substantiated or emphasized.

A couple of us are in the know on here...We do not pretend to know everything, especially since GEOS as a company is so f-ed up...But we know more than the average person. And to the disdain on a couple of GEOS NA managers (sorry, director title applies no more).

;-)

Cheers!

I never stated or assumed that anybody posting here was a teacher. I could care less if you are janitors or hookers or Michelle Obama. And I could care less what you explain considering you are such obvious morons. And since I have no hidden motive, it is pretty obvious that you don't know anything at all. But you can keep writing.

Well, we actually were not really talking to you on a few posts you thought we were......There are two of us insiders on here from the same city and we love sending messages that only we (and maybe one or two others) can figure out. Ah, the future stories we can tell.

As for Michelle Obama, yikes! That is a very scary though indeed.
