Franchising Chance?

Unread post by InterestedinBusiness » Mon Dec 15, 2008 6:17 pm

Has anyone heard of SpudsToGo? They are a fast food company who specialise in baked potatoes and smoothies. Franchises are now available in Japan. Do you think this would be succesful?

No, I never heard of it. They don't have a Wikipedia article, and Googling them seems to bring up more articles about their franchising schemes than their food, which is a big red flag - especially gimmicks like this. If you think Japanese people will really buy baked potatoes (not to say they won't), why not forego the franchising and just open up your own joint? I doubt Japanese people will be familiar with the SpudsToGo brand anyway, so it really doesn't have much value in that regard.
