What they should do is allow you to scan in a picture of anyone you want, who'd then become the zombie template. Have a laugh blasting your mates, or a bit of therapy by snuffing out your boss, your ex, or any D-grade "celebrity" of your choice.

Excellent use of "stramash", by the way.

I've played the PS3 and the graphics are fantastic, but it's made by Sony and I'm not giving those rat bastards any more of my money. :anger:

I have CoD: WaW for Wii. I never bothered trying to play it multiplayer, though. The single player was enough for me.

Are they actually selling CoD: WaW in Japan? I would have thought the J-publisher would have taken a pass on that particular game for some reason…

Haha. While I put them in the same league as Apple and hence like you try not to buy anything made by them, sometimes its just possible. So far so good with the PS3 though. Hasn't died or played up, and is region free :jaw: Only gripe I have so far is its small library of codecs although they may be upgradable. Only way to find out is try I spose...

Ah, yes. The original Star Wars arcade game - excellent! I also wasted many a quarter on that. Plus the Tron arcade game.

Battlefield Heroes

Anybody into Battlefield Heroes, a free shoot'em up from EA? I signed up and played for a few hours last night. Not bad. Lots of fun. Tons of fun sitting on the wings of a Spitfire and parachuting in. :guns:

I got Goldeneye for the N64 (best 300 yen I ever spent) and I love that game too. The multiplayer is really cool to play with friends (and alcohol).

You are a few decades late, mate.

Ghostbusters on the Amiga was were it was at, for that kind of thing.

A lot of film tie-ins worked on that machine, come to think of it!

Batman was SICK!!

since theres a lot of fuss about the new fallout coming out, i traded bioshock 2 for fallout 3. i have to say im not impressed so far. far too much time doing multiple choice talking to people, vague directions on where to go, confusing maps and menus and an utterly clunky hud interface. how did it get praised so highly? admittedly, im not very far in it, but it seems a mix of an ok fps and an ok rpg, instead of excelling at either...

doing older games at the mo, cos cash is a bit squeaky bum time. hanging out and saving up for dead space 2.

Once you get out of the initial surface town, it does get better. Though, I also agree on the why it got so much praise.
I also found the same to be true with Dragon Age: Origins. Great game once you get past the first few hours of boring ass dialog.
If you're going for old games, atm, try the original Dawn of War series. A bit dated graphically now, but still hours of fun.

ive played it a wee bit more, and its still pain in the arse. lots of wandering around doing nothing, followed by a bastard shooty bit by which you have forgotten what the buttons do because you have spent hours examining empty beer cans. na. not impressed. the menus are just too unwieldy.

The Mac version of Civilization V came out recently. For the record, I've been a nerd for Civ ever since Civilization III ate up many hours in college… I also brought it with me to Japan, and would play it on my laptop's trackpad until my wrists cried out in agony.

The biggest change in Civ V is the new map and battle system, which encourages more strategy than just grouping units together and brute forcing your way through. I like it, though it does make it a bit more difficult/annoying to control multiple units when you have to move them all individually.

Other parts of the game seemed a lot simpler than Civ IV (No religion? No espionage? No technology trading?), but there's still a good amount of depth there if you know where to look.

My major complaint is that the game tends to run sloooooow on my one-model-old MacBook… The integrated graphics hardware just has a hard time keeping up with the graphics even when I put all the graphical settings as low as they can go, and it seems to use around 120% of my processing power (it's a dual-core processor, so it goes up to 200%), even when I have it in the background and all it should be doing is playing its background music. Then again, Civ IV wasn't exactly a speed demon either… Guess it's getting near upgrade time.

I still launch into Civ II (in compatability mode) when I want a quick, yet entertaining, game. IIRC, it was renamed "the GPA killer" while we were in uni.

Yeah… Another complaint I have about Civ V is that it didn't copy Civ IV's great feature of being able to put a clock in the HUD. :D If I recall correctly, you could even set an in-game alarm. You know you've got a hell of a game when you start adding in features to help your players stop playing it.

I want to have peoples opinion on good Wii going cheap. Im partial to throwing 1000 yen to 2000 yen at games. Especially when 2nd hand. Any good ones you recommend?

GTA IV PS3 Region Free?

Unread post by scared&lazy » Mon Dec 13, 2010 4:34 pm

Simple question: Can anyone confirm that the USA version of GTA IV will work on a Japanese PS3? Working on the Xmas presents, and I don't want to buy a useless shiny little disc that won't play.

Thanks!

sorry, dunno but im pretty sure all games from anywhere will work on a ps3.

on a happier note, ive finally found a way to kill women. just nearly complete fallout 3 and then go back to all the townships and give those sassy ladies what god thinks they deserve. kill the guys as well, by the way. in fact, just almost finish the game, then go back to every place you discovered and unleash the dogs of war on them. it feels kind of bad, but i believe you get a trophy for killing everybody.
