Renewal of Spousal Visa

I want to renew my spousal visa
I couldn't find the answer on the Internet and because it's Sunday the immigration office is closed
Is there some maximum time before the visa expires that you can apply for a new one?
My wife •seems• to think 2 months but doesn't know for sure
One of my many employers told me I need to get a renewal to get a new contract
