Japan is kind of different in a way when it comes to supplying raw materials. You need to have an business account to deal with these suppliers. A lot of these suppliers import from the US or Australia for the supplies I need. Knowing the owners of two companies that are the main distributors of these supplies have landed me the best prices possible on their recommendations. I've paid my dues the last 7 years and it's nice to be able to reap the rewards.

I got a cool pt job last week from a friend and samhainp8 has helped me start a small English school. Edogaijin helped me a bit with wedding scrips but I need my weekends for the family. It's good to be connected to the right people at the right time.

I had been half-assed with respect to JLPT level 1.

Just to take all of the Japanese tests I took the J-test without really studying for it and wound up getting almost a 700 (they say 650 is JLPT level 1). The JLPT results are due soon, but I don't fucking care now!

hubby was able to come home early tonight because his "boss" was out due to a cold today as well. Our son was happy to have "daddy time" as mommy has --honestly-- been a bitch recently.

In one hour Im pissing off home. Fuck being here one second longer than I need to. Being this close to these people all the time does my fricking head in.

And yes this is a great!

Edited to add another great.

One of the morons who park up and block the street entrance to my complex decided to give up his lease. Thank fuck too. They attracted the yankee bunch of poofter losers and encouraged them to park up in front. The other night I got home when it must have been their farewell or something. There were a good 4 cars and a space for another one. I was busy taking number plate and car pics when another guy turned up. He asked me what I was doing and I said your cars are all illegally parked and I would be showing the cops the pics. Funny how 10 mins later they were all gone.

Because my high school made it to the spring Koshien this year (and because we have a monkey gaijin), a crew from NHK filmed one of my first year classes today. I guess for some kind of participating schools intro show.

THE KIDS WERE AWESOME!! They did their conversations in good, clear English, looked into my eyes when they answered my questions, smiled, laughed, STAYED AWAKE. I am so proud of them. Added bonus is they may actually have made me look somewhat of a competent teacher.

I sincerely hope the 3 seconds of film they use focuses on the students and leave me on the cutting room floor.
Do NOT arrest this man.

It's a very rare event to be approached by a stranger of the local variety and to have a normal conversation in Japanese without any drama, awkwardness or stupidity. Had a nice friendly chat with some chick about our kids and what not while waiting for the wife to sort out some paperwork at city hall. It's a shame my J-lingo is so crap....

Passed my gaimen kirikae driving test on my first try! My third time driving manual on the wrong side too. So glad I don't have to go back there. A couple of the staff personally congratulated me too. Obvious racists!

What?! Someone congratulated you, a foreigner, on passing your driving test?! That's outrageous bigotry! Alert Debito! Write to your MP (only this guy, though. All the rest are obvious racists.)

Picked up my new car today, a Toyota Sienta. Now I have something large enough to haul the family around and still put a bunch of stuff in the back on my trips to Costco.

With the exception of one stock which I sold off in January (which was a shit stock last year and cost me almost $500), this year has been fucking fantastic for my stocks. The last stock trade I did made me almost $400 in one week (this was pretty much pure luck).

This is mean but among the many bad driving habits around here is cutting corners and straying on to the other side of the road when turning right. I've had to do emergency stops before just to avoid a collision with people. They then sail on as if nothing had happened of course.

Last night leaving Sushiro someone decided to cut the wrong corner and rammed a concrete dwarf wall making lots of racket as the trim gave way and the car attempted to climb the thing. She then backs off it. Pauses for a moment and decides that the best thing is to pretend nothing happened - Never fails. Certainly not to get put and inspect the damage. That would mean admitting it had happened. Off she drives then with a loud "flat tire" sound coming from her front right wheel. I saw her get about 200 metres before being forced to pull into another car park.

Finally making some extra repayments on my mortgage. The best part is watching the monthly repayments amount go down.

And this sofa we just got from Ikea. After many years of cheapie sofas I finally had enough.

Congrats ABs I've been out of Japan and Eikaiwa for awhile now - my new job might have a posting over in Japan, but my hats off to anyone that made it out of Eikaiwa & was able to stay in Japan!

I think I have found a way to have a go at this idiot we have in accounts. Just spoke to my client and she was carrying on in the background so I said to the client: "Im sorry for the noise in the background. She just wont stop being so damn noisy. It distracts me from my job and is a general nuisance."

Everyone heard it. LOL!

Glorious sunshine today, not too hot, so I walked down to the nearest park. Spent about 45 mins there just zoning out. Its not exactly a park as such, just a "semi-park" around the grounds of an athletics staium, so there were a few bods running etc. A smattering of mums with toddlers, birds, and even the noise of the trucks on the major road nearby all kinda turned into white noise while I sat in the shade and did nothing. Got home and had a nap for about 3 and a half hours so feeling relaxed and rested . Now, if only the fucking tinnitus would bugger off, itd be wonderful.

Good shit I picked up at Costco this week.
Kettle salt and fresh ground pepper chips, tasty and crunchy!
Beer battered onion rings
Pack of 5 pizza bases with tom sauce and cheese , less than 800 yen i think
1kg bag of cooked peeled prawns

Needles to say the next couple of dinners will be prawn pizza, onion rings, and a chips chaser.
