Re: The little questions...

You mean "have." There's nothing you can do. The cops are probably already aware of them. You could try and solve the problem with a baseball bat, but that would only land you in jail. Invest in some good earplugs.

Re: The President Trump Thread

The scandals are accumulating at an exponential rate now. I like Seth Meyers' Closer Look today, he takes us through it on a day-by day basis just to highlight the fact that literally every day there is another bombshell. Soon it will be every hour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU3VpwV4-nk I don...

Re: The President Trump Thread

It seems this right wing populist BS is being limited to the big English speaking countries. It seems that way. Nobody seemed to be able to read the "Macron Leaks." BTW, when did "populist" come to mean "right wing authoritarian idiot?" Scratch that. It looks like Macron's IT team had the smarts to...

Re: The President Trump Thread

Its actually kind of encouraging to see election results elsewhere - France, the Netherlands, South Korea. Its like the rest of the world is looking at the Trump fiasco and saying "lets not go there." Gives me some hope for humanity. I suppose you can credit Trump for showing the world how it's not...

Re: The President Trump Thread

Ha! Korea was last week's news. South Korea just elected a new liberal president. I wonder what he will do with North Korea. I've read that that grand jury has also issued subpoenas, so things are really heating up now with Trump. Could the walls be closing in on him? Aside: I didn't know a presiden...

OK, Trump has now fired the FBI Director over the Clinton email investigation. Comey was the man who put Trump in the White House.
Next up: Install new stooge and kill any and all investigations into Trump's connections with Russia. What a dumpster fire of a government.

Re: Hague convention agreement on child abduction... Japan comes up short

What a gut-wrenching situation. So, how does it work when one parent wants to take the kids back to the home country for a visit? Does the non-accompanying parent need to provide a letter as proof that the marriage fine and the kids are not being abducted?

Re: The North Korea Question

You mean North Korea lining up 300 artillery pieces and firing all them at once? Yep. It's all over TV here in Japan. It looks impressive, but I suspect that it would be one giant and juicy target for some A-10s. North Korea tried to launch a missile early this morning but it apparently failed. A pr...

I do honestly wonder if he thought he'd truly win. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he didn't think he could win. And if he did, he clearly had no idea about how hard it would be. What do you value? Being close to the station or close to the beach? In my experience: 1) In a concrete mansion, you probably won't hear your neighbors next to you, but you probably will hear the pitter patter of feet above you. 2) The old house sounds spacious, but if it's some old showa job, then ...

So, at the usual presser, Spicer was asked about why the US can bomb Syria but not take refugees. His reply:
"With respect to the people of Syria, by us taking action and de-escalating what's going on in Syria, that's the greatest thing you can do to support those people."

Re: The North Korea Question

I think this is the greatest worry in any attack on North Korea-- that the North Koreans would fire off an artiller...
