The kanji for 2010 was "sho"(暑)meaning hot. Looking back on the year, as far as this blog is concerned, the word of the year is probably "GEOS" owing to the closure of its schools in Australia and then its bankruptcy in Japan. On the other hand, if you worked for Nova when it collapsed in 2007, the fact that the trustees have started paying unpaid wages probably came as a pleasant surprise. For what it's worth, here's a recap of the issues covered on Let's Japan.

I find this website an interesting read, however a lot of the posts are biased and quite frankly, often not entirely true. English teaching in Japan has a bad enough reputation as it is without websites such as this spreading more rumours. That said, theres lots of good stuff this website too. Lets make 2011 a year where posts are less biased, and less taking true stories to the extreme. Happy 2011.

You forgot to add in December that no deal was closed for GEOS NA in regards to Open Hearts and no deal looks imminent. In fact, some in the know that stated on here that the deal is DEAD.
Forgot?
It probably wasn't mentioned because it has hardly anything to do with Japan and hardly anyone cares about it except a handful of posters who work for GEOS NA.
Not necessarily forgotten,
Not necessarily forgotten, but I haven't been able to confirm this fact apart from the anonymous comments made in the GEOS thread. Has there been some sort of announcement by GEOS or Open Hearts?
